Q: What was your first impression of each other?
Honestly, my first impression of him came as a full-blown question in my head: “Excuse me… who is this fine and calm young man?” 🥰 I was intrigued immediately.
At first glance, I felt Joy was very focused and calm. Now I know better. 😂
Q: Who started the conversation?
He spoke to me first… but let’s just say I carried the conversation to where it needed to go 😌
Joy did. She just couldn't help herself.
Q: Did you feel an instant connection, or did it grow over time?
Instant is actually an understatement. The moment I saw him, it was connection, admiration, and a serious crush, all at once. It came upon me like a mighty wind, no warning at all.
From the first conversation, there was something special. Something in me couldn't wait for the next one. It didn't take me long to notice her smile and compliment it. I pushed all that aside and paid no attention to it. But over time, I couldn't help it anymore.
Q: What surprised you the most about each other?
I was so sure he was younger than me because of how calm and soft-spoken he is. Imagine my shock when I found out he was actually older… I had to just humble myself immediately 😅
We had just become friends. One day, I was ill and off work, and she visited me out of the blues, after work hours. I didn't think she was capable of such kindness 😏
Q: What’s the first conversation you both still remember?
A random but deep conversation about how taking pictures and listening to music can be so therapeutic. It was simple, but somehow it stayed with us.
When we talked about family and my age. The shock on her face still makes me blush 😂
Q: At what point did you realize this was more than just friendship?
The day I caught him looking deeply into my eyes… not just looking, but seeing me. He tried to act like it was nothing, but please, I knew better 😄
When I started thinking about her whenever I listened to an emotional song. I always wanted to share those songs with her.
Q: When did you start developing feelings for each other?
The moment he acted like a true gentleman, even though we barely knew each other. I didn’t even waste time, I ran straight to my friends’ WhatsApp group and screamed, “Guys, I have found my husband!” 😂
The day she wore a very nice cute gown to work and I walked into the building behind her, seeing things that flesh and blood could not reveal to man really had nothing to do with it 🫣
The feelings became irrepressible, after many gists and conversations, when it dawned on me that Joy and I connect on so many levels. I saw that she was a truly kind Jesus baby raised by God himself. All I wanted from that moment was to become God's son in-law 😌
Q: When did it become clear that this was something serious?
When he asked me to be his lover and his person… that was when I knew this wasn’t just vibes anymore, this was something real ❤️
When leaving her after a hangout became terribly difficult. I started anticipating the next gist, the next hangout, the next ride to work, at that point, I knew I had to take the next step.
